Following the latest survey by the Asia Digital Marketing Yearbook
(www.asiadma.com) Viet Nam has ranked 17th among 20 top countries and
territories in the world as dedicated users of the Internet.
According to the site, Viet Nam saw an estimated 14,913,652 Internet
users in January 2007, representing 17.5 percent of the population. In
2000, Viet had only 200,000 Internet users. The country's Internet users
now represent 3.7 percent of Asia's online population, said the web.
Heading the list of online users was the US with 211 million people,
followed by China and Japan, respectively.
There were over 1.1 billion Internet users in the world, 80 percent of
which belonging to the 20 countries and territories ranked top of the
list.
